Vu Duong Luan is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Heritage Studies and the Head of Office of Research Affairs and International Cooperation at the School of Interdisciplinary Studies, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU). He received his PhD degree in Chinese History at Sun Yat-sen University after have been trained in Vietnamese History at the Department of History, VNU. He has been Visiting Graduate Student, Visiting Fellow, and Visiting Lecturer at National University of Singapore (2008), Sophia University, Japan (2010), Center for Chinese Studies, Taiwan (2014), Harvard Yenching Institute (2014-2015), and Charles University (2022). His research interests are the Transnational History of Sino-Vietnamese Early Modern Borderlands, Comparative Studies of Social and Economic Institutions of Imperial China and Vietnam, and the Politics of Heritage in Chinese and Vietnamese societies.
