Aurko Chakrabarti is a geopolitical researcher and editor specialising in media, political communication, and regional dynamics in Asia. His work focuses on the intersection of media and politics, with particular attention to narrative construction, public discourse, and policy communication.
Chakrabarti previously worked with the Advanced Study Institute of Asia (ASIA), SGT University, where he served as Editor of the Decypher Journal and held the position of Research Associate in the Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology. He contributed to applied geopolitical research on South Asia, China, and regional power dynamics. Beginning his professional career as a Narrative Designer at the Sanrachna Foundation, he later transitioned into research and editorial roles, where he developed publication workflows, coordinated interdisciplinary contributions, and supported the expansion of the Decypher newsletter into a regular research output.
His work spans research, editorial practice, and media production. Chakrabarti has contributed to projects on India’s global image and supported the development of institutional research systems and trackers. He has edited research papers, policy briefs, and academic submissions across areas including political economy, climate, culture, and China studies, and has been involved in multimedia research communication through podcasts and short-form documentary work.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Media and Communication from Swansea University. His research interests include media and political communication, visual culture and narrative politics, and media systems and public discourse in developing contexts.
